FACET JOINT INJECTIONS
Serving Phoenix, AZ & Surrounding Areas
The facet joints are small bones located on each side of the spine that connect the vertebrae to one another. Over time, these joints can become painful, which is why they often need medical attention and require injection treatments to provide last relief. Pain in your facet joints are often caused by trauma or injury, arthritis or degenerative disc disease. Aside from treating the area of pain, it’s also important to treat any underlying conditions causing acute and chronic pain in your back and neck.
In most cases Sonoran Pain & Spine can relieve facet joint pain through a combination of injections and physical therapy. Dr. Minesh Zaveri and our team of spine experts will manage your back & neck pain, but more importantly diagnose any underlying conditions that may cause pain to persist long-term.
“The entire experience from scheduling an appointment to walking out the door was fantastic. You really get the sense that this is a world class practice. They made me feel welcomed and did not rush through the visit. He, and his PA, answered all my questions and ensured I understood the prognosis and all possible directions of care moving forward. I’m very happy we came across SPS.”

More About Facet Joint Injections
What is next if facet joint injections don’t work?
After your facet joint injection procedure, your doctor will give you a half-hour rest. Dr. Minesh Zaveri will then ask you to perform the movements that will most likely cause you to feel pain, and you should be able to perform these movements free of discomfort. Over the next few weeks, we will likely suggest that you work with a physical therapist to progress through healing. However, if the pain worsens and goes beyond the usual range of motion, then surgery may be recommended.
